Caverta contains Sildenafil Citrate, the active component that enhances blood flow to the penis, aiding in the treatment of erectile dysfunction. It helps restore erectile function and facilitates a natural response to sexual arousal. The physiological process of achieving an erection involves the release of nitric oxide (NO) within the cavernous body during sexual stimulation. This nitric oxide activates guanylate cyclase, leading to elevated levels of cyclic guanosine monophosphate (cGMP). Consequently, this results in the relaxation of the smooth muscles in the cavernous body and an increase in blood flow to the penis. Sildenafil serves as a potent and selective inhibitor of cGMP-specific phosphodiesterase type 5 (PDE-5), which is responsible for the breakdown of cGMP in the smooth muscles of the penis.
Caverta is prescribed for the treatment of erectile dysfunction in men over the age of 18. Erectile dysfunction is characterized by the inability to achieve or maintain an erection that is adequate for sexual intercourse.
After its absorption in the body, Caverta inhibits the activity of the phosphodiesterase 5 enzyme, which contributes to reduced blood flow that can lead to impotence. By blocking the action of phosphodiesterase 5, Caverta helps to elevate cGMP levels, which enhances blood circulation, particularly to the affected areas of the penis.
Simultaneously, Caverta promotes the release of nitric oxide, a muscle relaxant that helps to ease the penile muscles, allowing blood to flow into the penile region and resulting in an erection.
The firmness achieved is sufficient for a lengthy sexual encounter, ensuring satisfaction for both the male and female partners involved in the intimate activity.
Caverta is available in tablet form, intended for oral intake. The typical recommended dose is 50mg or 100mg, based on the desired therapeutic effect. In elderly patients with renal or hepatic impairment, the dose should not exceed 25mg. It is advised to take the medication 30-60 minutes prior to engaging in sexual activity.
